UAE Golden Visa updated benefits
The UAE continues to strengthen the value of its Golden Visa program by introducing new and improved services designed to support long-term residents wherever they are in the world. Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) announced four important enhancements that significantly improve travel assistance, emergency response, and family support for Golden Visa holders.
These updates reinforce the UAE’s commitment to offering security, convenience, and global protection to its most valued residents.
1. Free 30-Minute Emergency Return Permit from Abroad
Losing a passport while traveling can be stressful, but Golden Visa holders now have access to a fast and reliable solution. Under the new system, an electronic return permit can be issued within 30 minutes, completely free of charge.
This permit allows Golden Visa residents to re-enter the UAE quickly after passport loss. Applications can be submitted online through the MoFA website or mobile app using UAE Pass.
Required documents include:
An official passport loss report
Golden Visa information
A recent passport-sized photo with a white background
Once issued, the permit is valid for seven days and can be used for one-time entry only. It is important to note that this document does not replace a passport for international travel. For assistance, MoFA’s support team remains available to guide applicants through the process.
2. 24/7 Dedicated Support Hotline Worldwide
Golden Visa holders now benefit from a round-the-clock international support line, ensuring help is always available regardless of location or time zone.
By calling +971 2 493 1133, residents can directly reach MoFA’s call centre for urgent matters, travel issues, or emergency guidance while abroad. This service ensures uninterrupted access to official support whenever it is needed.
3. Enhanced Crisis and Emergency Assistance Abroad
Golden Visa residents are now formally included in the UAE’s international emergency and crisis response framework.
In situations such as natural disasters, political unrest, or large-scale emergencies, UAE embassies and consulates will provide coordinated assistance. This may include evacuation support, temporary accommodation, and access to essential services.
This expanded protection offers Golden Visa holders greater reassurance when traveling or residing overseas.
4. Repatriation and Burial Support in Case of Death Abroad
In the unfortunate event of a Golden Visa holder passing away outside the UAE, MoFA will assist families with repatriation and burial arrangements.
The ministry works with local authorities to streamline legal procedures, accelerate documentation, and ensure the respectful return of the deceased. This service aims to ease the administrative and emotional burden on families during highly sensitive circumstances.
Global Support Without Borders
The UAE’s Emergency and Crisis Support Services for Golden Visa holders operate globally through its diplomatic missions. This coordinated network ensures that Golden Visa residents receive immediate and reliable assistance wherever they are, reinforcing the UAE’s reputation for comprehensive resident care and international protection.
